"One click paid parking"

Meter Maid is a free application that makes paid parking using your mobile phone very easy. The Dutch branch of T-Mobile awarded it with the first prize in its Android developer challenge.

The application is named after the Australian Surfers Paradise Meter Maids which were introduced by local shopkeepers to provide a positive spin on parking regulations. Instead of issuing tickets for expired parking, the Meter Maids dispensed coins into the meter and left a calling card under the windscreen wiper of the vehicle (Wikipedia). While Meter Maid will not pay your parking fees, it will make paid parking a lot easier.
